Is your pool pump tired? Are you ready to save money on energy bills AND get a rebate?
Signs You Need a New Pool Pump
If you have noticed any of the following signs, it may be time to replace it and with a new rebate program from ComEd on ENERGY STAR certified products, there’s no better time than now! Here are some signs that your pump needs to be replaced:
- Is seven to ten years old
- Does not seem to be as powerful
- Continually makes noise
- Gets hot and shuts down
- Hums or buzzes but will not start
- Starts slowly
Energy Star Rated
Variable speed pool pumps that have earned the ENERGY STAR are independently certified to save energy and money.* In fact, they:
- Use approximately 70% less energy than standard pool pumps
- Can save up to $340 per year in energy bills
- Run quieter and extend the life of your pool’s filtering system
Conventional pool pumps waste energy by using the same pump speed whether they are filtering the water, vacuuming the pool or performing another task.
ENERGY STAR certified variable speed pool pumps, however, can run at lower speeds during filtration—the task pool pumps perform most often. Because filtration requires only half the flow rate of pool vacuuming, these variable speed pumps can provide significant savings over time.
An ENERGY STAR certified variable speed pool pump can save you about $2,200 over the lifetime of the product. This investment can pay for itself in less than two years—even sooner with a ComEd rebate.
Here’s how to apply:
- Download and complete the ComEd Pool Pump Rebate Application.
